The global COVID-19 crisis is imposing sudden and unprecedented pressures on societies and industries around the world, particularly in European Union with virtually all sectors affected. However, vocational education and training (VET) systems are being uniquely impacted, not only in relation to how they provide VET in the context of current social distancing and travel restrictions, but also in terms of how they are being forced to anticipate and adapt to what could very well be a significantly changed labor market in the coming months and years. In particular, education and training institutions may force learning providers to adopt system and technology innovations that will expand the use of distance learning and distance or alternative assessments. Many EU countries are setting up online environments, ranging from using very simple messaging services or through other more elaborate IT learning platforms replacing usual classroom lessons. It is also an opportunity to promote and further explore some existing e-learning materials and tools for creating them. Some countries have launched projects or established provisions for VET teacher work placements in companies. It can be easily understood that during the pandemic, digital delivery, which allows offering professional learning opportunities online for VET trainers, has become the norm. Although this approach offers flexibility in terms of time and place, and during the health crisis it has been the only possibility; it is still a novelty with unknown effects. In the current circumstances, the purpose of RESTART VET project is multifold. In particular, it aims to create an online training course with interactive materials, tools and resources for supporting VET teachers in education as well as the “RESTART VET Toolkit” with practices on management of distance learning skills, teleworkability and staying mentally positive providing necessary tips and guidelines for increasing well-being, and cope with the possible work overload that is caused by

Therefore, the main objectives of the RESTART VET project are to:
-Upgrade and innovate existing training tools and programs for VET teachers
-Develop the ICT and digital skills for VET teachers that the research identifies as needed
-Bridge the gap in digital competences by providing a training curriculum for VET teachers on e-learning methods and provided digital techniques
-Increase professional preparation and provide higher quality human-oriented skills in VET
-Empower and increase life quality for VET teachers and value creation and flexibility in working life
-Develop a Toolkit with practices on management of distance learning skills, teleworkability and staying mentally positive
-Acquire knowledge on effective e-learning methodologies and to carry out virtual evaluation
-Share good practices on the core and proper competences required in VET
-Set up an innovative and pedagogical training approach for VET
The project’s main target groups will be:
-Vocational Trainers, Teachers and Advisors
-School Managers
-Life Coaches and Mentors
-School staff as directors and educators
-Educators and Trainers for VET teachers
