Medical Student at Bülent Ecevit University – Volunteer
To be happy in life, one must contribute to the world around them. Being a volunteer at Paydaş gives me the opportunity to do just that, while also bringing me together with people I might never have had the chance to meet otherwise. The topics we discuss during the events we attend touch something deep in the heart. We can engage in philosophical conversations with people we’ve just met, while also enjoying friendly, sincere chats.
As someone living in an era where spiritual richness is scarce, these events and environments have been like an oasis in the desert for me. Paydaş is a place where I can step away from the hustle and bustle of daily life and its shallow concerns. It is a space where I meet people who broaden my perspective and where idea exchange adds to my personal experience.
Being a Paydaş volunteer contributes not only to my professional life but also helps me grow in my human dimensions. By attending events and sharing what I’ve learned with those around me, I take one more step toward self-realization.
Forming heartfelt connections with others is a beautiful thing. I’ve experienced this through the various events organized by Paydaş. Even when we don’t share the same views, exchanging ideas with others creates a rich and meaningful atmosphere. At a time when polarization is spreading like a disease in our country, being part of such a network of thoughtful, kind individuals is something I deeply appreciate. In a life that seems to be slipping away faster each day, Paydaş feels like a moment to pause and breathe.
Through Paydaş, I have gained experiences tied to concepts like solidarity, empathy, and altruism. In the “Praise to Words” sessions, I learned new things on a variety of topics, whether or not I was already familiar with them. In the “P4C Philosophy Workshop,” I witnessed how philosophy can be done by asking and answering questions.
When it comes to personal growth, one name always comes to mind: Paydaş!
