A documentary film titled “Women’s Labor” is being produced as part of a project organized by Paydaş Eğitim Kültür ve Sanat Derneği, focusing on the stories of female vendors in village markets, which are emblematic of the Western Black Sea Region.
This project aims to instill in younger generations the value and significance of labor through hardworking women while highlighting the beauty of our cultural heritage. By emphasizing women’s labor, the project seeks to raise awareness of the artificial spaces of the consumer world and the cultural erosion that distances people from their roots. Additionally, it aims to present real role models to the new generation.
Through visits to the homes and production sites of female vendors from the Zonguldak Kilimli Market, the documentary captures the journey of labor—from gardens, greenhouses, barns, and bakeries to the market stalls.
Prepared with the contributions of Ekol Müzik, Zonguldak Municipality, Kilimli Municipality, Durmuş Photography, Photographer Alaaddin Kara, Theater and Voice Artist Fahri Bozbaş, and Kömür Karası Music Group, the “Women’s Labor” Documentary Film will be screened on March 8, International Women’s Day, at the Zonguldak Municipality Cinema Hall.
