This article reflects my personal experience as a participant in the Erasmus KA153 project titled Digital Version of Volunteering organized by Paydaş Eğitim Kültür ve Sanat Derneği in Zonguldak, Türkiye.
Me and my colleagues from the Romanian team had the incredible opportunity to engage in a wide range of activities centered around the role of volunteering in the digital age. Our daily activities included workshops interactive sessions presentations and group discussions on topics such as digital safety, website and social media creation, AI applications and the integration of digital volunteering within NGOs. The practical nature of the program helped us strengthen our digital skills and apply them in meaningful ways. Working in mixed teams with people from different backgrounds helped us grow not only in terms of knowledge but also as persons.
As for myself, I improved my communication skills, gained more confidence in expressing ideas in English, learned about some tools I could use in my future job as a teacher and I developed stronger teamwork abilities. I really appreciate the well planned workshops and the activities planed for this project. The social media management activity was our opportunity to make digital content for specific platforms and groups. We learned by doing, and that’s what made learning fun!
Another highlight of the program for me was the visit to the archeological sites which offered a unique blend of learning and cultural exploration. It was truly fascinating to walk through such a historic place and learn more about the past.
I would especially like to thank the Turkish coordinators who were always present, supportive and kind. Their dedication played a major role in creating a positive and well organized environment for all of us.
Overall, this project was an unforgettable journey that helped me grow both personally and academically. It showed me how digital tools can make a real impact in volunteering and inspired me to continue contributing to my community in new ways. I’m deeply grateful for this opportunity and hope our paths will meet again in the future.
