Nebahat Çankırılı

Project Development Specialist

I am Nebahat Çankırlı, an English teacher working in Karadeniz Ereğli, specialized in international projects and innovative educational practices. I graduated from Hacettepe University, Department of English Language Education, in 1999. Throughout my career, I have led numerous projects that shaped education both in the classroom and on international platforms. For many years, I have been working at Gülüç İbrahim İzmirli Anatolian High School, where I serve as a project writer and coordinator in Erasmus+ KA121, KA122, KA210, and KA220 projects. I am recognized for my work on digital transformation in education, the integration of VR technology into learning processes, and studies focused on the Sustainable Development Goals (particularly SDG 4, 5, 8, and 17).

During my career, I have had the honor of representing Turkey in many international summits and panels. My talks and work have centered on inclusive education, youth well-being, digital education tools, artificial intelligence in education, and sustainable education. I have spoken at major events such as The Future of Hybrid Learning Summit, Global Youth Forum, and the International World Schools Summit. Through the KA121 Job Shadowing program in Vienna, I observed best practices in education across Europe. I also developed innovative VR-based projects within the scope of TÜBİTAK 4006-A.

My work in education has been recognized with numerous national and international awards.

In 2025, I received the Nelson Mandela Peace Award Educator of The Year (World School Summit), Inspiring Woman Educator (IIU), Global Educator (IIU), Teacher of the Year (Shishka Award), and the Educational Excellence Award (World School Summit).

In 2024, I was honored with the Outstanding Teacher Award (21st Skills Academy), Teacher of the Year Award (Shishka Award), Outstanding Teacher of the Year Award (International Confederation of Worldwide Principals & ICE), International Women Leadership Award (United Humanitarian Organization), and the International Influencer Educator Award (International Confederation of Worldwide Principals & ICE).

Alongside my native Turkish, I possess advanced English proficiency, strong leadership skills, project management experience, and a global educational vision. With these, I continue my journey as an inspiring educator at both national and international levels. Through Paydaş Association, I aim to create new horizons for young people, educators, and myself by contributing my experience and working collaboratively within teams.
