Paydaş Volunteer – Medical Student at Bülent Ecevit University
Being a volunteer at Paydaş Eğitim Kültür ve Sanat Derneği makes me feel like I am doing something good for myself. It allows me to step away, even for a while, from the repetitive pace of life and nourish my soul. This organization gives me the opportunity to meet people from various fields and cultures. Through the events I participate in, I both expand my knowledge on the topics discussed and become more aware of my own interests.
I am truly pleased to witness the healthy communication among people in this association and to experience the long-missed sense of truly “listening to one another.” When we come together, we distance ourselves from our social identities and the numbers that define us, and simply show up as our true selves.
This volunteering journey offers me the chance to grow as an individual alongside the university education I receive for my professional career. It enhances my ability to understand others and express myself. With every event, I meet many new people and expand my social circle. I see myself as a part of a team and feel that I am growing. This helps me envision a clearer picture of the future Aslı—one who is more advanced in her profession and has a meaningful place in society.
The experiences I gain here are truly unique, and the events I see are the result of great effort and long dedication. This makes me even more enthusiastic and gives me hope for the future. As a result, I broaden my goals—not just to become a physician, but to always strive for more and aim for the best. I’m so glad I had the chance to meet this team and become a volunteer for this association!
